The second World Peace Forum, being held jointly by Muhammadiyah and the Cheng Ho Multi Culture Trust and supported by the Center for Dialogue and Cooperation among Civilizations (CDCC), is currently taking place in Jakarta from June 24-26. With the strategic and timely theme, "Addressing Facets of Violence: What can be Done?", this is a very momentous event for Indonesia, and especially the host Jakartans, where violence just occurred earlier this month.

Penghormatan Keberagaman Kunci Atasi Kekerasan

[JAKARTA] Kekerasan yang dilandasi perbedaan agama dan ras tidak akan bisa diselesaikan tanpa adanya penghormatan terhadap keberagaman. Penegasan tersebut disampaikan sejumlah kepala negara, antara lain Perdana Menteri Selandia Baru Helen Clark, Perdana Menteri Belanda Jan Peter Balkenende, Perdana Menteri Australia Kevin Rudd, mantan Presiden Uni Soviet Mikhail Gorbachev, serta Menteri Luar Negeri Inggris David Miliband, dalam pesan tertulis mereka yang dibacakan pada pembukaan Forum Perdamaian Dunia (World Peace Forum/WPF) kedua, Selasa (24/6) malam.

Jakarta- The 2nd World Peace Forum kali ini menjadi Istimewa dengan hadirnya negara baru di darata balkan, Kosovo. Mereka datang sejak hari minggu lalu, 22 Juni 2008. “Indonesia memang belum mengakui kemerdekaan Kosovo, tapi mereka bisa hadir walaupun tanpa visa,” ujar Abdul Mu’ti, ketua OC Forum Perdamaian Dunia di Jakarta, Selasa(24/06/2008).

Jakarta: Presiden Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono Selasa (24/6) malam membuka The 2nd World Peace Forum (WPF), Addressing Facets of Violence : What can be Done? yang diselenggarakan oleh Muhammadiyah & Cheng Ho Multi Culture Trust,di Hotel Sultan ini. Acara yang diselenggarakan didukung Centre for Dialog and Cooperation among Civilizations (CDCC) ini berlangsung tanggal 24 s/d 26 Juni 2008, diikuti oleh peserta dari 36 negara, terdiri dari berbagai kalangan seperti agamawan dan politik, pebisnis, cendekiawan, aktivis LSM, dan jurnalis.
